The Rock County Development Alliance has released its Rock Ready Index for the second quarter. Notable highlights from the economic development dashboard include:

— Housing sale prices hit a record high for the county, with an average sale price of $193,097 and a median sale price of $176,333

— Sales and use tax collections were up around 7% from the same period last year

— Economic development projects are down 50% from historic trends for the first half of the year

With the second quarter having contained the bulk of Wisconsin’s “Safer at Home” order, which began on March 25 and was overturned by the Wisconsin Supreme Court on May 13, it remains to be seen what impact the Covid-19 pandemic will have on third-quarter numbers.
