Hyvee announces it’s intention to buy the former Shopko building in Janesville.
City Manager Mark Freitag says the plan is to remodel the current building for the grocery store that will have a separated liquor store.
Freitag says the store will also have a food court with possibly a Wahlburgers bar-restaurant and a Starbucks Coffee Shop.
Freitag says the former Shopko building has been empty since 2019.
Freitag says the plan is to start remodeling work in January with the hopes of opening in the fall of 2022.
