JANESVILLE

Soon, Janesville will have one less place to get a fresh-baked sheet cake.

A nearly century-old Beloit bakery is closing its Janesville location in September.

Old Fashion Bakery’s Facebook Page breaks the news in a post that says the bakery will close its Creston Park Drive store in Janesville on Friday. The social media post says the outlet lacked customer foot traffic.

Old Fashion’s owners declined an interview.

The social media post says people can continue to make cake and treat orders at the Beloit Park Avenue store, Old Fashion’s main location, which remains open.

The bakery plans to continue to stock items at Woodman’s Food Market stores.

The bakery has run in Beloit since 1933. Back then, Old Fashion says it mainly made fresh-baked bread in small batches.
